Google AI Mode (Google's AI search experience) can now send a homeowner's booking or quote request to a home-service business through partners Jobber, Housecall Pro, Angi, and Thumbtack. Google's Search Product VP said it's available now in the U.S., with ServiceTitan coming soon.
If you already run one of those, the work this week is setup and speed: make sure a request can reach you, and that someone (or something) replies fast. If you don't run any of them, you don't have a path into those partner booking links today — which is different from showing up in regular Google results or getting phone calls.
A custom AI agent can help you answer and follow up across the leads you already get, and it can be built around your shop instead of another monthly stack. It cannot put you into Google's partner booking links by itself. Here's how the partner path works, what to check, and where an agent fits.
What Google announced
Google Search Product VP Robby Stein said, as reported by Search Engine Journal: "Today, we're making it even easier to research & book home services with direct links in AI Mode through partners like @angi_home @thumbtack @housecall & @GetJobber (and @ServiceTitan coming soon). It's available now in the U.S."
At Google I/O, Google talked about agentic booking and about calling businesses for categories like home repair. This announcement is the partner booking and quote links going live. (Search Engine Journal)
We are quoting Stein as Search Engine Journal reported him. Google's own "check local availability in AI Mode" help page still doesn't mention these partner links, according to that same article.
Google hasn't published how it chooses which shops appear.
How each platform says you get in
| Platform | What they say | What you need | Lead fee claim | Status note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber | Eligible U.S. customers with an active paid Jobber subscription can receive these requests. Jobber says a booking form, instead of only a request form, and collecting client reviews can help Google AI Mode recommend you more often. That recommendation line is Jobber's, not a Google ranking rule. (Jobber help) | A complete address in Jobber, a Google Business Profile (your free listing on Google Search and Maps) connected at that same address, and a request or booking form connected to Google. Jobber connects the default request form automatically. Trial accounts can't appear. (Jobber help) | Jobber says there are no lead fees for AI Mode requests. (Jobber help, Jobber announcement) | Requests come in like other online bookings. Assessment bookings can require approval. (Jobber help) |
| Housecall Pro | The announcement says all users are eligible to appear at no additional cost, and that requests go to the Pro's Housecall Pro Inbox. Housecall Pro says "One request, one Pro, no lead fee, no bidding war." ( Housecall Pro announcement) | The partner page says Pros are auto-enrolled, availability comes from the calendar, and no Google Business Profile is required. The help article says Pros are auto-opted in. To turn it off: Settings, then Job Inbox, then toggle off Google AI. Leads are under Inbox, then Chats, then Job Inbox, then Google AI. (Housecall Pro partner page, Housecall Pro help) | The announcement says there is no lead fee. (Housecall Pro announcement) | The Nov 4 announcement says the integration is "coming soon to eligible US customers." The partner page and help article read as if Pros are already auto-enrolled. Check your account before you assume you are live. (Housecall Pro announcement, Housecall Pro partner page, Housecall Pro help) |
| Angi | A homeowner who selects an Angi pro in AI Mode goes to that pro's Angi profile to learn more and request a quote. (Angi announcement) | An Angi profile. That announcement is where Angi says the homeowner goes. (Angi announcement) | Angi hasn't said in that announcement whether its usual consumer-match fees apply to AI Mode quote requests. (Angi announcement) | Named by Google. Check your Angi account for anything new. |
| Thumbtack | Named by Stein. As of Nov 4, Thumbtack hadn't published its own AI Mode press release. (Search Engine Journal) | Check Thumbtack. The sources for this post don't include Thumbtack setup steps. | Not stated in the sources checked for this post. | On the partner list. Check Thumbtack directly. (Search Engine Journal) |
| ServiceTitan | "Coming soon," per Stein, as reported by Search Engine Journal. (Search Engine Journal) | Nothing to set up from the sources checked for this post. | Not stated. | Coming soon. Nothing else in those sources. |
If you're already on one: what to check this week
Jobber
From Jobber's help page:
- Keep "Help clients find my business" on.
- Make sure the address in Jobber matches your Business Profile.
- Connect that Business Profile in Jobber.
- Confirm a request or booking form is connected to Google. Jobber connects the default request form automatically.
- Consider using a booking form, and keep collecting client reviews. Jobber says those can help AI Mode recommend you more often. That is Jobber's guidance.
- If you want a person to approve assessment bookings first, turn on "Require assessment booking approval." That setting is optional.
Housecall Pro
From Housecall Pro's help article:
- Open Job Inbox and look for Google AI. Leads are under Inbox, then Chats, then Job Inbox, then Google AI.
- Confirm the Google AI toggle under Job Inbox settings. The help article says you turn it off under Settings, then Job Inbox.
- Decide who replies when a new lead shows up there.
Housecall Pro's Nov 4 announcement says this is "coming soon to eligible US customers." Its partner page and help article read as if Pros are already auto-enrolled. Check your own account before you assume you're live.
Angi
Complete your Angi profile. Angi's announcement says a homeowner who picks an Angi pro in AI Mode goes to that profile to learn more and request a quote.
Thumbtack
Thumbtack is on the partner list Stein named. As of Nov 4, Thumbtack hadn't published its own AI Mode press release, according to Search Engine Journal. Check Thumbtack for any AI Mode controls.
Whoever answers
Decide who replies in the first few minutes. If your rule is that a person sets firm prices and bookings, keep that rule.
Do you need Jobber, Housecall Pro, Angi, or Thumbtack for this?
For the booking and quote links Google named, yes. You need an account on one of those partners. ServiceTitan is on that list when it arrives. A shop on none of them has no route into those links today. That is our reading of Stein's comment, as Search Engine Journal reported it, and of that article.
Other Google work is separate. You can still have a Business Profile, get organic calls, run ads, or take Local Services Ads leads. Google can already charge you for some missed calls.
Many shops already pay for Jobber or Housecall Pro to run the business. If you do, turning on the AI Mode path is mostly setup. If you don't, joining only for AI Mode means weighing that subscription, and any marketplace fees, against how many jobs you expect from this surface. We don't know that volume, so we won't put a number on it.
When a request lands: reply fast
Partner pages stress speed. Housecall Pro's announcement says "Speed wins in the trades."
A few practical checks:
- Turn notifications on for new requests.
- Have a plan for after hours.
- Give the same honest ranges you'd give on the phone.
- If a firm quote or a booking has to wait for a person at your shop, keep that rule.
Paid auto-replies on other lead sources have the same tension between a fast reply and being locked into one platform. See Yelp Smart Lead Reply.
Where a custom agent fits (and where it doesn't)
A custom agent does not do these things:
- It does not put you into Google AI Mode's partner booking links.
- It does not replace Jobber, Housecall Pro, Angi, or Thumbtack for this surface.
- It does not guarantee you'll be shown in AI Mode.
A custom agent can do these things:
- Answer calls, text missed callers, and follow up on quiet quotes across the lead sources you already have.
- Use the price ranges and fees you've approved.
- Wait for a person before a firm price, a booking, or a quote.
- Send a missed-call text on its own.
A custom agent can be built around how your shop already works, instead of adding another monthly subscription for every channel. Hardihood builds these agents and teaches owners how to build them — so you get the flexibility of something fitted to you, without stacking SaaS tools you only needed for one feature.
Where Hardihood fits
Hardihood can build a mix fitted to the shop: voice answering, missed-call text-back, and quote follow-up, across the lead sources you already have.
The missed-call text goes out on its own, because it only says you saw the call and will get back to them. Anything that commits you, like a price, a booking, or a quote, waits for a person to approve it.
We'll look at how your leads come in on the free call.
Fixed-price Agent Sprints: $1,500, $2,500, or $4,000, delivered in 5-12 business days. Read what an AI agent costs.
You own the agent. Need help later? We're here. But we build agents to run on their own, so most owners never need ongoing support.
Agents can connect to tools like QuickBooks, Shopify, Square, Google Workspace, and HubSpot.

We also teach owners who want to build and own more of the agent themselves.
